The U.S. Supreme Court is temporarily halting a new state law that allows Texas police to arrest suspected illegal border crossers. A federal court had blocked the law earlier, but the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the ruling on Saturday. The nation's highest court issued a temporary stay until March 13th. In the meantime, the court will consider whether Texas will be allowed to enforce Senate Bill 4, which would have resulted in arrests as soon as this Saturday.
