Construction is underway on a new University Health hospital on the Northeast Side. Groundbreaking took place on Wednesday, at the 42-acre site on Lookout Road near Retama Parkway in Selma. The five-story hospital will provide 166 inpatient beds by the time it opens in three-years, with room to expand to 286. A 100-thousand-square-foot medical office building will also be built on the hospital grounds. The hospital is expected to bring as many as 600 jobs to the local economy.
