A Texas House committee is advancing a border security bill aimed at reducing the number of illegal immigrants crossing the Texas-Mexico border. The Committee on State Affairs passed House Bill 4 by an 8-4 vote on Thursday. The bill would require illegals caught at the border to return to Mexico or face prosecution. The measure doesn't address people who are already living in Texas illegally. Opponents are questioning the cost and constitutionality of the bill. The Senate State Affairs Committee has passed a similar bill by a 7-3 vote.
