Candidates interested in replacing Kevin McCarthy as U.S. House speaker are seeking the support of the Texas Republican delegation. On Wednesday, Texas Republicans welcomed three hopefuls at their weekly lunch. Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana, Republican Study Committee Chair Kevin Hern of Oklahoma, and House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan of Ohio are in the running. Texas has the largest GOP delegation in the House, with 25 members. The GOP conference plans to pick a nominee before next Wednesday's election.
