Texas A&M San Antonio Receives DoE Grant For Bilingual, ESL Instruction

Texas A&M San Antonio is on the receiving end of a Department of Education grant to support the training of multilingual teachers. The first-ever grants went to 15 higher education institutions as part of the Augustus F. Hawkins Centers of Excellence program. The four-year, $1.5 million grant will fund scholarships to increase the number of multilingual teachers in Texas communities and schools with diverse student bodies.
