Federal officials are auditing the Texas Health and Human Services Commission over matters related to Medicaid. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is looking into the number of people who were denied Medicaid coverage in August. The federal agency says the audit is part of a continuing oversight of certain states to ensure compliance with federal requirements. A spokesperson would not say how many states are being audited.
