Gov. Greg Abbott says he'll call a special session in October dedicated to school choice. Abbott made the announcement on Tuesday, calling on faith leaders to support the program, which makes public money available to help pay for private school. The governor said that if the legislature doesn't come up with a school choice law in next month's special session, he'll call another special session on the same issue. In June, Abbott called two special sessions to force lawmakers to pass a property tax relief bill.
