Astros Defeat Athletics To Avoid Sweep

The Astros avoided a three-game sweep at home. Houston defeated the Oakland Athletics 6-2 in the series finale at Minute Maid Park. Yordan Alvarez, Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker all homered to help Houston snap a two-game skid. Starting pitcher Hunter Brown notched his 11th win after tossing seven strikeouts over five scoreless innings. The Astros have a one-game lead atop the AL West at 83-and-64. They will travel to take on the Kansas City Royals tomorrow night.
