A former corporal with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office is awaiting extradition to California to face a murder charge. Sheriff Javier Salazar says 31-year-old Giovanni Ceja was driving along I-215 in Riverside County on the night of August 6th when he hit and killed a man on the side of the road. Ceja fled from the scene of the accident. Several days later, he returned to San Antonio from vacation and went back to work. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office called Monday and told Bexar County officials Ceja was wanted for DWI, murder, and hit-and-run causing death. Ceja has resigned from his position.
