The ice skating rink at the Galleria is open again following the first major renovations in its 53-year history. The rink has been closed since May for upgrades to the ice surface, the bathrooms, flooring, and changing areas. The overhaul cost about a million-dollars. The Galleria opened in 1970 as the first mall with an indoor ice skating rink. More than half-a-million people a year visit the rink, which reopened on Monday.
