Harlandale ISD is moving ahead with plans to close four of its schools. The school board narrowly passed the measure by a 4-3 vote on Monday night. Board members listened to public comments for more than an hour before the vote. They approved Option B, which calls for the repurposing of Carroll Bell, Columbia Heights, Morrill, and Rayburn Elementary Schools. No details of the repurposing were discussed. Each school that's closing is enrolled at only about 50-percent of its capacity.
