Woman On Death Row Gains Bipartisan Support In Texas House

A woman on Texas death row has more than half the members of the Texas House of Representatives asking state officials to stop her execution. Melissa Lucio was convicted in the 2007 death of her two-year-old daughter Mariah, who died a couple of days after falling down some stairs. Nearly 90 state lawmakers are pleading with the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and Gov. Greg Abbott to commute Lucio's death sentence to life in prison, or else postpone her execution for three months. Lucio is scheduled to be executed on April 27th.
