CPS Energy is looking to hire outside companies to conduct an independent review of its operations. When the San Antonio City Council voted last month to approve a rate increase for the city-owned utility, some council members insisted on an organizational review. Interim President and CEO Rudy Garza agreed. Earlier this month, CPS issued a request for proposals from outside companies to review one or more of five areas of the utility's operations. The reviewers' findings will be reported directly to the trustees.
