CPS Energy is preparing to resume disconnects this fall for customers who haven't paid their power bills. In a meeting on Monday, board members talked about pulling the plug as of October 1st for customers more than 30-days past due if they aren't enrolled in a payment assistance program and haven't responded to outreach efforts. That's more than 7,200 customers, owing more than $12 million. Nearly 50,000 customers who are partially paid but not receiving assistance will go dark on November 1st. A final 13,000 who are receiving assistance have until January 4th to pay up.
