Second Teen Migrant Shelter To Open At JBSA Lackland

A second emergency shelter for unaccompanied illegal immigrant children is opening in San Antonio. Federal officials announced on Saturday that the second shelter will be at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland. The base has 372 beds, which is a fraction of the capacity at the Freeman Coliseum shelter. An estimated 18-hundred migrant children are being housed at the coliseum. The Department of Health and Human Services says 100 boys between the ages of 13 and 17 will soon arrive at the JBSA Lackland intake site.
