The communications director for Senator Ted Cruz is resigning after last week's deadly siege at the Capitol. Lauren Blair Bianchi has been with the Texas Republican since mid-2019. A statement from Cruz' office says the senator and Bianchi "agreed that it would be best to part ways." Cruz was a leading Republican advocate for investigating the results of the presidential election when Congress ratified the results last week.
