Austin Strong Mayor Proponents: We Have Enough Signatures

Supporters of the Austin Strong Mayor proposal are claiming they have enough signatures to get it on the ballot. Austinites for Progressive Reform say they've turned in 24-thousand signatures to the city clerk. The proposal gets rid of the city manager position and gives more power to the mayor. Opponents say a strong mayor form of government would make it harder for City Council members to have equal say in proposals.
