Elf Louise Christmas Project Support Grows With New Donation

The recently-held WOAI Elf Louise Radiothon raised a record amount of funds to support the local Elf Louise Christmas Project.

As the radiothon wrapped up on December 5th, just over $265,000 had been raised. Now, thanks to a donation of $35,000 from the Wyatt Law Firm, PLLC, through the Wyatt Law Firm Foundation, the overall total surpassed $300,000.

The one-time donation is the start of a partnership between the two nonprofits and the Wyatt Law Firm to help increase awareness of the Elf Louise Christmas Project program.

The Elf Louise Christmas Project was founded in 1969 by Louise Locker and has been making an impact for less fortunate children throughout Bexar County for more than 50 years. Toys and gifts are hand selected, wrapped, and delivered to the family’s door by volunteers dressed in Santa suits. More than 4,500 volunteers help with the process each year and money is raised each year through a two-day radiothon on News Radio 1200 WOAI.

Wyatt Law Firm founder Paula Wyatt says, “We give to children in need every year and this year we were looking for ways to make a bigger impact. This program helps us to bring a lot of Christmas joy to families in Bexar County.”

Wyatt Law Firm Marketing Director Charity Starrett says the decision to support the Elf Louise Christmas Project was an easy one. “Nothing brings more joy to a child than a new toy, especially at Christmas. We couldn’t possibly coordinate such a huge project ourselves, so we are delighted to support and witness this worthwhile nonprofit continue to make a difference for many holiday seasons to come. It’s such an important and life-changing project.”
