Attorney General Seeks To Stop El Paso County COVID-19 Lockdown

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is acting to reverse El Paso County's COVID-19 lockdown. A hearing is scheduled today on the temporary injunction filed yesterday by Paxton to stop County Judge Ricardo Samaniego's order he issued last Thursday. Samaniego's order shuts down all activity not deemed "essential" for the next two weeks. Paxton says Judge Samaniego's order goes against Governor Greg Abbott's statewide COVID-19 executive orders that lead to a gradual reopening.
