Large Crowd Anticipated For Texas Race Sunday

Texas Motor Speedway will be allowed to have up to 50 percent capacity for the Sunday O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 NASCAR Cup Series race. That would be more than 67,000 fans at the Fort Worth track, although officials are not expecting nearly that many in the Texas heat for an afternoon start. It could still surpass the 20,000 fans Wednesday night at Bristol, making it the largest attended sporting event since the coronavirus shut down sports in March. Aric Almirola will start on the pole, while Ryan Blaney will join him on the front row for the 267-lap race.
