Metro Health Concerned About Increasing Numbers Of COVID-19 Cases

Metro Health officials are voicing concerns with an increasing number of coronavirus cases in recent days.

Officials are reporting 3,840 cases of coronavirus in Bexar County. The total includes 192 new cases that were reported on Thursday. Officials also reported two new deaths, so the county's death toll is now 82. So far, more than 2,200 patients, or nearly 58%, have recovered.

San Antonio Metro Health Director Dawn Emerick says this is a "second wave" of patients may be caused by an increase in people getting out over the Memorial Day holiday weekend as the state began to open up, but she is concerned about what the coming days may bring as the state continues to open up.

Officials continued to urge social distancing and wearing masks when in public.
