Missing La Porte Man Found Alive In Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon National Park To Celebrate Centennial In February

The National Park Service is reporting that a La Porte man who went missing at the Grand Canyon last month has been found alive. Rangers found 58-year-old Martin O'Connor on Thursday on a difficult trail along the canyon's South Rim. O'Connor had last been seen at a lodge in Grand Canyon Village on December 22nd. After he was found on Thursday morning, he was airlifted from the canyon in a helicopter. O'Connor is undergoing a medical evaluation after being exposed to the park's winter conditions.
