Texas Ranger: I Do Not Believe Amber Guyger Committed Crime

Legal office of lawyers, justice and law concept : Wooden judge gavel or a wood hammer and a soundboard used by a judge person on a desk in a courtroom with a blurred brass scale of justice behind.

The Texas Ranger who investigated a deadly shooting involving a now-fired Dallas police does not believe she committed a crime. Ranger David Armstrong said in court today Amber Guyger acted reasonably in the 2018 shooting death of Botham Jean. Armstrong's comments were not made in the presence of a jury and a judge ruled she will not allow him to testify on Guyger's state of mind. Guyger is charged with murder in Jean's killing which happened inside his apartment. The defense says Guyger mistook Jean for a burglar after accidentally going to his apartment, instead of her own.
