More Harris County Jail Inmates Quarantined Over Mumps

The Houston Health Department reports more than 400 inmates at the Harris County Jail are now quarantined because of the mumps outbreak. So far 14 inmates are showing symptoms, and the others quarantined are those who had contact with them, such as cellmates. The first case of mumps appeared on May 17th, and the others turned up a couple of weeks later. The virus has an incubation period of about 12-to-25 days.
