Third Fire At A Catholic Church In One Month Being Investigated As Arson

Orange Dancing Flame

Firefighters are investigating a fire at a Catholic church in the El Paso, Texas area as arson. Saturday morning's fire is the third time a Catholic church experienced fire in the border town since early May. Firefighters found heavy smoke and a broken window near the chapel's altar at St. Jude Catholic Church. The other churches in the El Paso Catholic Diocese to burn were St. Matthew's and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Firefighters determined in those cases an incendiary device outside started the blaze. Today's fire is the first time flames actually reached the inside of the church.
