Verlander Allows One Hit In Astros' Win

Chicago White Sox v Houston Astros

Justin Verlander lost his no-hit bid in the seventh in the Astro's 5-1 win over the White Sox in Houston. Jose Abreu homered with one out in the seventh for the only hit Verlander would allow in eight innings. Verlander struck out 12 and walked one to improve to 8-and-1. Yuli Gurriel homered in the fourth and Michael Brantley doubled home two in a four-run fifth for Houston. The Astros are 12-and-1 in their last 13 games. Dylan Covey took the loss, allowing four runs in four-plus innings. The White Sox have lost three straight.
