Disappearing Lake Dunlap Impacts Kyle Water Supply

The drained Lake Dunlap caused by a spill gate failure this week is affecting Kyle's water supply. The city customarily gets some of its water from the reservoir, but not for now after Lake Dunlap turned into a stump-filled swamp in one day on Tuesday. Voluntary water use restrictions are in place in Kyle for the time being as a precaution. Assistant City Manager James Earp says since most of the city's water supply comes from the Edwards Aquifer and Barton Springs there is no need for residents to be alarmed.
