San Antonio Gas Prices Fall, Now the Lowest in Texas

San Antonio gas prices have begun what is expected to be a steady fall over the next several months, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The average gas price in the city today is $2.52, down a penny in the past week.

AAA Texas says gas prices have been up in the past couple of weeks due to high demand over the Labor Day weekend, as well as concerns about the appearance of the first tropical systems in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Market analysts anticipate retail gas prices will decrease once demand begins to drop," AAA Texas Daniel Armbruster said.

For the first time this year, we are paying less today than we were paying for gas one year ago today.  In early September of 2017, San Antonio motorists were still feeling the effects of the Great Gas Panic of 2017, prompted by Hurricane Harvey and concerns over refinery output.

San Antonio drivers are again paying the lowest amount in the state for gas, and among the lowest prices in the country.
