Man Steals Two Teslas from Northwest Side Dealership

A 31 year old man is in custody in connection with the theft of two $100,000 cars from the Tesla dealership on I-10 near the Dominion on the city's northwest side, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police Sergeant Michelle Ramos says its not like the two vehicles aren't easily noticed or anything.

"Those do stick out," she said.  "I'm sure you have one and its been broadcast that they are missing vehicles, we are fortunate that we were able to locate them."

Police tell News Radio 1200 WOAI that one Tesla was stolen about 1:30 this morning, and the second was stolen at 3:30AM today.  A window at the dealership was smashed as well.  She said Briseno apparently entered the dealership and stole three key fobs which he used to start the cars.

Police say he stole one car, and then apparently re-entered the dealership and stole the second vehicle.

One vehicle was found on a street near Lockhill-Selma Rd.  Ramos says police noticed Briseno getting into the car, and followed him.  The other Tesla was found about a half mile from the dealership.  Neither car had been damaged, she said.

Ramos says the suspect, Michael Briseno, 31, will also had narcotics in his possession when he was arrested, so he will face charges for that as well.
