Denver-based budget air carrier Frontier Airlines this week adds 11 non-stop routes from San San Antonio International Airport, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

With the addition of the new routes, Frontier now serves more than two dozen destinations from the Alamo City.On Sunday, Frontier launched non-stop service to: Charlotte, N.C.; Jacksonville, Fla.: Omaha, Neb.; and Tulsa, Ok.

Monday's new routes were Orange County, Ca.; Cleveland, Oh.; Memphis, Tenn.; and Oklahoma City.

Tom Bartlett with the City of San Antonio's Aviation Dept. says non-stop service to: Albuquerque, NM; Columbus, Oh; and Salt Lake City, Ut. begins Wednesday.

Bartlett says, as an alternative to flying into high-traffic Los Angeles International Airport, the San Antonio-Orange County flights should prove popular with West Coast-bound travelers - and profitable for the airline.

"There's nearly 60,000 people who fly between the two cities on an annual basis," he says.
