Ex Eagle Pass City Manager Headed to Prison

The former City Manager of Eagle Pass will be managing his cell in a federal prison for the next three and a half years, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Hector Chavez, Sr, 68, was sentenced on one count of making a false statement to a federal agent, after he lied to the FBI in its investigation into the corruption scandal that rocked the border town, resulting in indictments against several Eagle Pass and Maverick County officials.

Chavez lied about work done by Chace Management, a company he owned, which received $24,000 from the city for not doing any work on a contract.
