Weeks-Long SE Side Feud Ends in Gunfire

Police are investigating after a 71 year old man shot and wounded his 28 year old neighbor at a southeast side apartment complex overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police were called to the Marigold Apartments in the 2300 block fo Goliad Road about midnight on a report of gunfire.

When they arrived they found the younger man bleeding from a gunshot wound to the hip.  He was rushed to the hospital with a non life threatening wound.

The older man was waiting for police, and he told officers that the two had been engaged in an escalating feud for some time, and it  came a a head with gunfire.

Police are questioning the older man, who claimed self defense in the shooting.
